• Less likely to experiment with drugs and alcohol.
• Less likely to get into a fight.
• More likely to succeed in school.

What is a Mentor?
A mentor is a friend and spiritual role model for a young person. You do not need any special skills to be a mentor. It is simply making a commitment to someone who will benefit from a positive adult role model.
Mentoring will challenge you, make you feel good, and make an impact in the life of a young person.

What is Daughters of Deborah Mentoring Ministry?
The Daughters of Deborah ministry is a team-based mentoring program that pairs a team of mentors with a group of preteen or teen girls for a full school year.

Become a Mentor Today!As a mentor, you will meet with the girls twice a month at the church, and engage in topic discussions and additional learning activities, to help them acquire confidence, new life skills, knowledge and experiences. As you share your wisdom with the girls, you empower them to make wise decisions in their everyday life, based on godly principles.

Who Can Mentor?

Any adult female who meets the following requirements can apply to be a mentor:

  • Be a Christian with a calling to work with youth.
  • Be a growing disciple, willing to live a Christian life style.
  • Be at least 25 years old.
  • Be a member of Cornerstone for at least one year.
  • Be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Be willing to commit two hours, twice a month (mostly 2nd and 4th Sundays) for a full program year (Sept – June).
  • Be willing to attend scheduled group events during the program year, such as retreats, volunteer projects, etc.
  • Be able to attend a mentor training session.
  • Be willing to work with co-mentors in a team environment.

Daughters of Deborah MentorsHow do I Volunteer to Be a Mentor?
It’s EASY!

  • Complete a mentor application and submit to the Connection or church office.
  • Complete an interview with the ministry head.
  • After your application is reviewed and your background check is approved, meet with the program coordinator to get matched with a mentoring group.
  • Attend a two-hour mentor orientation and training session.
